-day forecast and carry through next weekend. >> a woman is dead after a fire in northeast baltimore. >> it happen on sunday morning on north avenue. kim dacey is live downtown with the latest. >> the victim was an 88-year-old woman who lived in the home with other family members. she was the only one inside the home when the fire started. officials say the fire started just after 6:30 sunday evening on east north avenue near collington avenue in northeast baltimore. firefighters say a neighbor was hurt trying to get into the home to save the victim. he was rushed to the hospital with a possible leg fracture. the body was found inside the home. officials do not know how she died. they think it was due to smoke inhalation and burns. neighbors say it was a terrible scene. >> i saw the flames shooting up out from the first floor and the flames were so thick and intense. i've never seen any flames like that before. it was really, really bad. >> the whole neighborhood -- everybody in the neighborhood that came around trying to help, getting people out of their houses and stuff. >> the cau

the for the baltimore grand prix, our big story this morning. >> it all wraps up this morning. george lettis made a pit stop by the track to see how things were going. >> the race to the end of the second annual grand prix of baltimore is in the home stretch. so far, the new organizers of the race say despite literal bumps in the road, it's been a success, even though they know they won't make money on this. >> we came on board so late. we had about 100 days and we are realistic. to do it right, you need more than 100 days. >> making money was a big issue for downtown restaurants last year. a lack of marketing and access to places like harbor east, federal hill and little italy brought disappointing business. so far this year -- >> but this year it's improved. they're more familiar with what roads are closed and which ways they can travel, so if you come to little italy, you will not be blocked by any barricades. >> the races on saturday ended at around 6:30 instead of around 9:00 p.m. last year and we are told they redesigned the track to allow better access to neighborhoods. but do these crowds compa

we say good morning to kim. >> good morning. the major roadways are checking out ok. in baltimore county, route 24 is shutdown in both directions for some debris. there's also some debris in harford county. in the city, a couple of things to talk about. most of the closures from the grand prix oregon. one that remains is on sharp street between pratt and conway street. monument street is closed near patterson park. that is for the road that buckled for the water main break. this is the beltway north of security boulevard along the west side. things are moving pretty well. this is 95 at 100 in howard county. traffic is moving just fine. that is the latest on traffic pulse 11. >> police have been busy overnight investigating a pair of shootings that sent four people to the hospital. at pratt street, the identities of the people are not known. the second shooting happened just after 9:00 p.m. last night. one of the victims was found on reet.strone st >> a mother is dead following a weekend shooting. police are calling her death senseless. kim dacey is live in the studio with more on

brought football back to baltimore. 11 news sunday morning starts right now. >> welcome to the sunday news. our top stories in a moment. first what a day it was yesterday, weather wise. >> we had some very strong storms through the area. even a few reports of severe weather, whether it be in montgomery, washington county, frederick county, also possible funnel reported by an officer near sandy point. so possibly there was a funnel near the area. nonetheless, we did have some strong storms that brought down some trees. as we look at hd doppler, we can see that front finally moving off shore. rain showers still left along the lower eastern shore including rain right now in ocean city, but it has cleared out as you look across southern maryland, baltimore, even in the western start of the state. this is all changing now as we get throughout the day. that front is heading off shore. we are looking for beautiful conditions. currently around 60 degrees. we're moving for high temperatures up near 80. you're gonna wake up to clouds and a few showers across the lower eastern shore. and cooling skie
